Remember Dirty Dancing? Where Jennifer Grey stays at a resort in the mountains with her family and then falls in love with the resort’s dance instructor? If you loved that movie as much as I did, you’ll probably love the Kellerman’s-resort-feeling at the Suites-sur-lac – Côté Nord Tremblant’s new resort and private lake club on Lac Supérieur in Tremblant. Suites-sur-lac is 69 modern condo-suites with breathtaking views of the lake, plus the club on the peninsula which includes an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, kayaks, beach volleyball, a yoga platform, and a few chalet-like buildings for activities and private functions (cocktail party, anyone?) Stay with your friends, family or on your own (and maybe meet your own Johnny Castle!)
The contemporary suites range from 1-4 bedrooms which are much nicer than many condos I’ve seen in the city. Last weekend I was invited to stay in one of the 2-bedroom suites that put my own tiny apartment to shame with its king-sized bed, large windows, modern kitchen, two-way fireplace, two bathrooms and two flat-screen tvs! My favourite features were the dishwasher (something I don’t have chez moi) and the Nespresso machine. Aside from the luxury of the condo, I enjoyed the great-(civilized)-outdoors by swimming in the lake, lounging on one of the docks or in one of the many Fatboy hammocks and bean bag chairs, kayaking and visiting with our sweet suite neighbours. The Suites-sur-lac are a great place to socialize while enjoying a variety of outdoor activities. If you want a more private chalet-chic experience, you can rent one of Côté Nord’s luxury log chalets, which are located in the woods nearby, but that also include access to the private lake club.
The Côté Nord Tremblant group (a family-run business) have successfully paired up nature and luxury to give us a getaway match made in heaven – just like Johnny and Baby!
