Martinique Gourmande 2021

Martinique Gourmande is a culinary festival that aims to bring a taste of Martinique to Montrealers and Quebecers. If you haven’t yet had the chance to visit Martinique (I had the opportunity to go in 2018 thanks to the Martinique Tourism Committee, see the highlights here), it’s a great way to get to know the country and its culture through their cuisine. For this, the 14th edition of the festival, most of the activities take place virtually. You can enjoy live cooking and cocktail mixing demonstrations via the Martinique Gourmande Facebook page.

The festival wraps up Sunday, October 3rd at Parc Lafontaine with a solidarity brunch at the Robin des Bois pop-up restaurant. There will be music and dancing from noon until late in the afternoon. Plus, for every dish of Poulet Colombo (the Caribbean specialty from Martinique) sold during the brunch, you are contributing to the restaurant’s mission of aiding local charities to fight social exclusion and food insecurity.

And if you dream of living the true Martinique experience, be sure to enter to win a trip for two with Air Canada and Martinique’s Club Med Les Boucaniers on the Martinique Gourmande website.
