Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant

A week ago, I had one of the BEST spa experiences ever at Spa Scandinave Mont-Tremblant and thought you may want to try it too. Especially if you are skiing or hiking in Tremblant, this is the best après-ski (or après-hike) option that I’ve had so far!

I was visiting a friend who lives in Saint-Sauveur and I thought we should give the Scandinave Spa in Mont-Tremblant a try since I’d received two gift certificates for a VIP experience (thermal journey and massage) when I attended the guided thermal experience at the Scandinave Spa in Old Montreal last summer. We booked our massages for as late as possible so that we could enjoy the spa and bistro beforehand.

I’ve been to the Scandinave Spa in Old Montreal many times, but I’d never been to the one in Mont-Tremblant. The concept is the same, the site is device free (you leave your phone in your locker) and silence is encouraged and enforced on the entire site. That’s one of the things that I enjoy most about the Scandinave Spa philosophy (other spas tend to be a little more noise-friendly)!

The major difference between the two Scandinave spas is that the one in Tremblant is in the woods by the River Diable and it’s much larger than the one in Old Montreal. With more space and features to experience, it’s best to give yourself plenty of time to enjoy all the options. With your Thermal Journey access, you have three hours to spend in the hot, cold and relaxation stations. Prices vary depending on the time of year and which day of the week that you go. Walk-ins are welcome, but subject to wait times if the spa is already at maximum capacity. We chose to go on a Sunday in the late afternoon when there were fewer guests.

There’s plenty of parking and the reception is a short walk from the parking lot. Once we checked in and received our robes, towels and locker keys, we headed to the change rooms where we gladly ditched our cell phones and donned our swimsuits.

The entire spa is beautiful as each feature is spread out in the woods and everything is near the river where you can even take a cold dip after a hot sauna, steam bath or hot tub. We did the thermal baths, stopped for a glass of rosé at the bistro, then did the thermal journey a few more times before heading to our respective massages. I had one of the best massages of my life and left so zen afterwards that I was grateful I wasn’t the one driving back to Saint-Sauveur!

Of course, the Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant offers hydration stations with water and tea as well as plenty of apples if you are feeling peckish. The bistro also has light menu items, but we didn’t try them on this visit. All-in-all, I would highly recommend making a special excursion to Tremblant just to spend a spa day in nature instead of in the city. Do bring your own flip-flops and water bottle if you prefer over the paper cups they provide and any toiletries you may need for your après-spa.
