McCord Museum Sugar Ball 2018

Looking for a last-minute activity that will sweeten your weekend? The annual McCord Museum’s Sugar Ball is tomorrow night at L’Arsenal and it promises to be one of the best Montreal parties of the year. Last year, I attended the ball as one of the influencers chosen to represent their neighbourhood in order to promote the ball. I love to support the Sugar Ball because it is the ball for young philanthropists. Not only are all the cool 20-to-40-somethings attending the ball, they’re also sending approximately 10, 000 kids to the museum each year, thanks to the hundreds of thousands of dollars raised by the ball. Depending on your budget, you can either opt for the VIP networking cocktail dinatoire or come for the after-party where there are tables laden with pastries and other confections and sweet DJ sounds until 3am. Get your tickets here before they sell out. See you there! Co-chairs Sandra Ferreira (Groupe Ferreira) and Gerald Kounadis (Robinson Sheppard Shapiro) are dedicated to supporting the McCord Museum’s philosophy of studying and preserving Montreal’s history. Thanks to their efforts and yours, the Museum can broaden the public’s understanding of Montreal’s social fabric by offering unique programs and by preserving invaluable social collections. And by bringing school children to visit the museum to learn about Montreal’s past, present and future community, we help raise conscientious Montrealers. The Museum’s fundraisers help to support its upcoming exhibitions and installations such as these two that I am really looking forward to: Artist-in-residence, Marisa Portolese – In the Studio with Notman (opens May 25th) is a series of portraits inspired by the artist’s research into the Notman collection, but with a feminine twist. June 15th, Balenciaga – Master of Couture, organized by the Victoria and Albert Museum of London, opens to the Montreal public and I can not wait for its North American debut. Now, all I have to worry about is what I will wear to this year’s ball! Here is my outfit from last year: Dress: Marchesa (purchased at Le Chaînon’s luxury clothing sale, Reluxe).
