(English) La Nuit Blanche

Montreal Nuit Blanche 2013

Montrealers know how to party and the Nuit Blanche proves it with over 1000 activities lined up for tonight’s 10th year anniversary of the soirée. I tend to stick to the same plan each year starting with a trip through the Art Souterrain followed by a visit to the MAC and usually ending with a lengthy visit to the Belgo building (the perfect one-stop venue with five floors of art galleries and studios), but there are a ton of other venues and events to discover (best done using the Nuit Blanche app). Check out my list and let me know what’s on yours!

Art Souterrain

Art Souterrain
Spreading throughout Montreal’s underground passageways, the Art Souterrain project offers up over 130 artist works and installations for our viewing pleasure. The underground is also a great way to get from one Nuit Blanche venue to the next while being exposed to some very interesting art. Download the app to plan your route.

Gallery hopping at the Belgo Building
There are so many great contemporary galleries in this one building and it’s my tradition to pick up a glass of wine at one (usually starting at the top) and then I wind my way down through the other galleries (more wine is sometimes required). Not only is the art inspiring, checking out the other festival-goers is also a favourite activity.
