(English) Bridal Boudoir Affair 2014

It’s that time of year again! The Bridal Boudoir Affair is TODAY! And with wedding season coming up quick, this is the best occasion to discover fresh ideas whether you’re a bride-to-be or a guest-to-be. From A to Z, it’s really the crème de la crème of what Montreal has to offer for party and catering services. Check out my five faves from last year’s carefully curated show:

THE FLOWERS !

Bouquet Fleuriste
On the left are flowers designed by Montreal’s most modern florist, Jean-Pascal Lemire. You’ll find his atelier in the Ritz Carlton. On the right is a more rustic and whimsical table design that I really fell in love with. There was an entire hall of tables decorated in different ways to suit every style. It really gives you a sense of how your own wedding dinner can be.

THE CAKES !

Cupcake et Macaron
My favourite wedding cake was very Marie-Antoinette, but one could simply order exquisitely-decorated cupcakes and towers of macarons from Cupcake et Macaron for any special event. Mounia is a girl after my own sweet-tooothed heart!

THE NUTS !

Nicolina Servello nut bar
I know it’s not nice to say that someone’s a real “nut bar”, but Nicolina Servello is the QUEEN of the nut bar! And if you only knew how much I love Nicolina’s nuts. She roasts them in something magical that makes me want to have a lifetime supply. Not only does she do nuts, she’s also an amazing caterer and food stylist. If I ever plan an event or a wedding, I would definitely have Nicolina at the top of my must-have list.

THE COCKTAILS !  AND THE MEN’S LOUNGE

Buonanotte Brahm Mauer

I love my cocktails and no one does them better than the master of bar services, Brahm Mauer. Last year, I was walking around the Bridal Boudoir, gin & cucumber cocktail in hand, sampling all that the vendors had to offer. I mean, when else is it acceptable to tipple on a Sunday morning? Brahm can come up with a custom cocktail to match your party theme.

Lastly, I really enjoyed the addition of the Men’s Lounge. It was a chill place for gentlemen and gentlewomen to relax, sip a fine scotch and gorge on oysters at the seafood bar by Buonanotte. Thankfully, it’s back again this year!

Now, some of these vendors may not be there this year because the fab lady behind all this, Maddy K (wedding planner extraordinaire, aka the ultimate party girl because she knows how to throw a party!), likes to mix things up each year to give the attendees a new experience. Because, even the brides-that-are keep coming back to this most excellent and unique bridal show.

Some of the vendors and people that I love and am looking forward to seeing this year are:

Atelier Carmel

Maison Christian Faure

Maison Birks

Rustique Pie Kitchen

West Elm

My fave wedding photogs: Christina Esteban and Chelsea Gray (these girls do incredible photography!)

And, of course the fashion show! It goes from wedding to the wedding night… by ending with sexy lingerie and a burlesque dancer… Now, what are you waiting for? Don’t go to church! Go for a little debauchery on a Sunday. Trust me, you’ll love it!
