This week, Grey Goose treated me and some friends to an amazing afternoon on a boat with a mixologist on board. During our Grey Goose Le Voyage outing, we had the pleasure of trying four cocktails that are perfect for beating the summer heat or simply for sipping to your favourite summer beats. They even hired a DJ who played the best tunes from a boat alongside ours. It was the summum of summer outings that I wish you could all have experienced, but at least you can enhance yours with one of these simple cocktails. Read on for the recipes!
Let’s start with my favourite cocktail, the classic dry martini. It’s so refreshing and packs quite a punch!
GREY GOOSE CLASSIC DRY MARTINI
1.5 oz GREY GOOSE vodka
0.5 oz VERMOUTH
Lemon zest for garnish
Add the ingredients to a shaker of ice, shake or stir (I prefer mine shaken), strain into a chilled martini glass. Squeeze the lemon zest over the cocktail and add it to the cocktail as your garnish. Voilà, the perfect summer cocktail, in my opinion.
Next up, I have to say that the Espresso martini is really making a comeback. Which is great for me, because it has always been one of my go-to cocktails when I host a party. It’s not only refreshing, but it gives you that extra boost of caffeine which makes this a great cocktail to serve after a big meal to liven up your party guests.
GREY GOOSE ESPRESSO MARTINI
1.5 oz GREY GOOSE vodka
.75 oz coffee liqueur
1 oz of espresso coffee
fleur de sel or sea salt
coffee beans for garnish
Add all the ingredients to a shaker of ice, shake briskly to get a nice espresso foam, strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with coffee beans (they will float on top of the mousse). The salt adds a nice touch and takes the edge off of the sweetness.
