Take a moment at the new Moment Spa at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth

With the rainy, cold weather of November – what better time to take some time for ourselves? This week, I headed to the new Moment Spa in the recently renovated Fairmont Queen E. I walked in to the lobby and asked the concierge for directions to the spa. A large black spiral staircase descends from the lobby to the spa. I was invited to change into a robe in the locker room located in the gym across from the spa. Note that when you book a service at the spa, you have access to the pool, gym and locker rooms complete with sauna and Le Labo products. My massage therapist greeted me in the spa’s lounge area which is low lit and boasts a beautiful round settee. I enjoyed my 80-minute signature Moment Spa massage which is a mix of relaxation and deep-tissue work with the help of the therapist’s forearms. I even fell asleep at one point while she massaged my head. The most memorable moments were when she asked me to turn onto my back and placed a heated towel under my head and neck and a heated cloth over my eyes. Nice touch! The entire experience was polished off with a light mist of refreshing Valmont tonic over my face. I felt completely renewed. After the massage, the same therapist invited me to one of the large and comfy massaging pedicure chairs near the reception area. I felt like this moment was the perfect prolongation of an already flawless massage. While I sipped on herbal tea, Amina expertly groomed my feet and toes and polished my toenails with CND’s shellac in shade Cityscape. Since we chose shellac, I could go straight into the sauna and pool without smudging my pedicure. Following the sauna, I enjoyed the spacious locker rooms and showers. If you love Le Labo products – you’ll find plenty of mini shampoos, conditioners, shower gel and lotion at your disposal.Next time I visit the spa, I plan on stopping by the new Nacarat bar in the hotel, which was bustling when I walked by the windows. What better way to unwind after unwinding than with a glass of wine or cocktail?
