Already a fan of the Spa St.James since I would often go to their old location on Crescent Street for mani-pedis and massages, when I heard they were moving into the Ritz-Carlton, I was thrilled and couldn’t wait to try the new spa. My first visit was for a mani-pedi shortly after the move and I was especially taken with the elegance and contemporary look of the new space. As soon as you walk in, you are treated to a large reception area with a soothing waterfall and pleasant staff. I’ve always gone for the professional and impeccable service, which remains unchanged, but the new space is such a refreshing update. Not only is the spa on par with the five-star Ritz-Carlton hotel, spa guests are granted access to the hotel’s gym and pool prior to their treatments. I also love that you’re provided with a Ritz-Carlton robe and slippers upon arrival. Classy!
On my most recent visit, I was invited to try a range of services offered at the spa. Jordan, one of the owners, created a custom spa experience for me which included three luxe treatments, the first was: Detox & Revive – a Dead Sea salt exfoliation followed by a seaweed wrap and a 20-minute ride in their dry sauna (shown below, with therapist Marita) which vibrates and hums, stimulating your entire body while removing toxins AND burning calories! After a quick shower, I was ready for my Swedish massage – no surprises there, just a great traditional massage. For my final treatment, I enjoyed an Advanced Facial with Oxygen Blast. The facial itself felt like most other facials, but the application of pure oxygen to my pores gave my skin a fresh glow. Marie-France explained that the oxygen boosts the skins’ metabolism and encourages collagen production.
Between treatments and afterwards, I enjoyed my alone time in the resplendent relaxation room. Here, Marie-France brought me a bowl of mixed nuts and a cup of tea saying that I must be hungry after spending 5 hours at the spa. It was the perfect end to a luxury spa day.
The spa also has a hair salon which is great for women on the go. I tried it during Grand Prix week.
A big THANK YOU to the staff and owners for my incredible spa day! I left completely zen and plan to be back very soon.
