Montrealers know how to party and the Nuit Blanche proves it with over 1000 activities lined up for tonight’s 10th year anniversary of the soirée. I tend to stick to the same plan each year starting with a trip through the Art Souterrain followed by a visit to the MAC and usually ending with a lengthy visit to the Belgo building (the perfect one-stop venue with five floors of art galleries and studios), but there are a ton of other venues and events to discover (best done using the Nuit Blanche app). Check out my list and let me know what’s on yours!
Spreading throughout Montreal’s underground passageways, the Art Souterrain project offers up over 130 artist works and installations for our viewing pleasure. The underground is also a great way to get from one Nuit Blanche venue to the next while being exposed to some very interesting art. Download the app to plan your route.
Gallery hopping at the Belgo Building
There are so many great contemporary galleries in this one building and it’s my tradition to pick up a glass of wine at one (usually starting at the top) and then I wind my way down through the other galleries (more wine is sometimes required). Not only is the art inspiring, checking out the other festival-goers is also a favourite activity.

An edgy activity at the Belgo:
All Nuit Long
An interactive photo-booth (with photographer Nikol Mikus), short film screenings, popcorn and beer! Films by Dayna McLeod, Lamathilde and more. Part of this week’s Edgy Women celebrations for its 20th anniversary. Visit the site to see what other exciting events are happening.

Sip on a free contemporary cocktail to commemorate the 10th anniversary of La Nuit Blanche while enjoying your free visit to the four exhibitions. Also on site: art workshops and Danses à 10 (percussionists and dancers).

Sugar rush at the Omni
Take a break from the crowds and warm up over hot cocoa and freshly baked cookies at the Hôtel Omni Mont-Royal on Sherbrooke Street West.
