If you’re like me and have very sensitive skin, then you’ll want to make a visit to Etiket on Sherbrooke West. I stopped by the store last week and was impressed by the range of exclusive and normally hard-to-find brands they carry for people who are concerned about the types of products they use on their skin. Although there were a few brands that I was already somewhat familiar with like Dermalogica and Tata Harper – there were dozens of brands that I had never heard of, including a few that are produced right here in Montreal. Among those local products, you’ll find Pro-Derm, VivierSkin and Alyria. All new to me! Each line in the boutique offers unique properties for specific skin care needs and the staff are highly trained professionals who will be able to help you find the perfect products for your type of skin.

Aside from your choice of luxury creams, soaps, makeup and fragrances, Etiket offers very personalized aesthetic services. A range of facials and other treatments are available – all executed by the lovely aesthetician, Paule in a chic and relaxing treatment room. I was treated to a very thorough foot care treatment with the line of creams and lotions developed by the “Queen of feet” – Margaret Dabbs of London. Etiket is owned by fellow Prairie-expat, Simon Tooley. Originally from Winnipeg, Simon went from attending fashion school in Paris, to being V.P. in marketing and sales for Michael Kors, to starting an ad agency, to running his husband’s aesthetics clinic (Médecine Esthétique Dr Yves Hébert is upstairs from Etiket) before having the epiphany of opening a high end store that would compliment the aesthetic services at the clinic, much like a luxury apothecary for people who want the best in skin care. The result is a gorgeous store that any woman will be delighted to discover and browse. I left with a natural deodorant, 50spf sunscreen from SkinCeuticals, and the entire line of Margaret Dabbs foot care.
