(English) Chapeau mont Royal

Chapeau Mont Royal

Calling all Ladies (and Gents) who lunch in style…and care about our majestic mountain…do I have an event for you! Fashioned after the famous “hat luncheon” (officially, the Frederick Law Olmsted Awards Luncheon) in New York’s Central Park, Les amis de la montagne are launching the first Chapeau mont Royal in the historic Chalet du Mont-Royal on June 12th. A fancy lunch with fancy hats at Montreal’s summit…I can’t think of a better way to support our favourite green space.

A red carpet will welcome some 500 guests in their finest hats and outfits at the Kondiaronk lookout. Angus Dei, one of my favourite caterers, will be serving a locally-sourced gourmet lunch from 11:30 am to 2:20pm and Mitsou will be playing hostess! If you’d like an idea of what to expect, watch the teaser video below:

Tickets are $225 – includes a charitable receipt for $150 – (a steal if you consider that tickets to New York’s event go for $1000 and are invite-only)! What we DO have in common with New York is that Frederick Law Olmsted designed both Mount Royal Park and Central Park. Hurry and get your spots reserved because a little bird told me there are only 100 tickets left! Don’t miss the chance to be part of this unique highbrow social happening. If you see me there, I’ll be sure to tip my hat to you!
